What You’ll Do
- Harden prototypes: Refactor AI-assisted or founder-built code into maintainable, modular systems.
- Lead development: Own the architecture, reliability, and performance of multiple concurrent projects.
- Maintain & support: Monitor, debug, and iterate on live tools in use by real users.
- Scale responsibly: Improve speed, security, and cost-efficiency as usage grows.
- Document and systematize: Create internal documentation, patterns, and best practices for future devs to follow.
- Prototype new ideas: Occasionally build your own fast experiments alongside the founder.
- Potential to grow a team: Help hire and manage a junior AI-native dev as demand increases.
Your Toolkit
- Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL (esp. PostgreSQL), Node.js
- Frameworks: React, Vue, Express or similar
- Data: You know how to move data between systems, maintain data integrity, and build reliable integrations. Strong data foundations are essential.
- AI Tools: GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and other AI copilots — you know how to wield these tools to move faster without compromising quality.
- Infra & Integration: Supabase, Pipedream, DigitalOcean, n8n, Airtable
Ideal Background
- 5+ years in full-stack engineering roles or startup product development
- Strong experience owning and scaling production applications
- Proven ability to turn ambiguous or AI-generated code into clean, reliable systems
- Strong communicator — can explain tradeoffs, priorities, and technical decisions clearly
- Has worked on small teams or independently — understands how to balance speed with maintainability
- Bonus: experience mentoring or leading small technical teams
